How to Get Rid of Hives

Getting hives is more common than you might think. Unfortunately, what triggered the hives outbreak can be tricky to find. It could be as simple as the sunlight or more complex, like an infection, diet, etc. Regardless of the reason, getting rid of hives fast is the ultimate goal of everyone. Here are some things that might help you.

First, hit the store and find an over the counter antihistamine that will get rid of hives. Benadryl is one solution. You might also look for a gastric reflux medication as well. As always, please seek your doctor's direction or at least the store pharmacy personnel's thoughts before consuming any medication, especially if you have any medical conditions.

Medication aside, you could get a cool compress to the affected area. If you have an ice bag handy, that will work as well. Really, the cold is your friend here, so try to stay out of the heat. Heat really affects hives and will increase the itchiness of them.

It's also possible that your hives are caused by or prolonged by stress and anxiety. Do your best to relax. Perhaps have a nice cool drink, put on some soothing music and forget about your problems for a few. Aside from being good for your hives, reducing stress is great for the body as stress leads to all sorts of health problems.

Make a log of what you've consumed today and yesterday if possible. Look for things you've consumed that aren't normal or that you've taking in larger than usual portions of.

Contacting your doctor, especially if these things don't work, is a great idea.
